Resurrection Family Statement

Family

We are God's children, raised up into His family through faith in Jesus, who was crucified for our sin and resurrected to bring us life through His Spirit. As we share our lives together in Baltimore, we desire to know one another intimately and are committed to care for one another deeply with the love of God that Jesus has given to us.

Acceptance

As brothers and sisters in God's family, we graciously accept one another, celebrating our diversity, dismantling walls of racism and prejudice, reaching out to the lonely and wounded, and welcoming everyone to come worship together at our Father's house.

Mission

Each using their unique God-given abilities, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we work together to enlarge God's family in Southwest Baltimore, proclaiming the Gospel of Salvation, and testifying through acts of love, mercy, and healing that Jesus has come to resurrect people from death to life, restore broken relationships, and deliver our community.

Integrity

We seek to be true to our commitment to follow Jesus wholeheartedly at all times, encouraging each other to pursue lives of holiness and humble service, keeping one another accountable through honest communication, supporting one another in prayer, and striving to be faithful to the Truth of God as revealed in Jesus and the Bible.

Life Abundant

We follow Jesus with joy and thanksgiving, worshiping God freely, being open to change as we seek to know God more, valuing various expressions of creative praise, and enjoying life in Jesus together as we play as well as pray, cherishing special times of fellowship.

Youth

Rejoicing over our young people and treasuring their energy and contributions to God's family, we reach out in love to the youth of our community, especially to the fatherless and the relationally abandoned; and through our school and youth programs we seek to demonstrate the Father's love, raising up a new generation who will passionately follow Jesus and become servant leaders here and throughout the world!
